Organic Dishwashing Liquid In Five MinutesFeb 7, 2017
Organic dishwashing liquid sounds intimidating to make, but fear not!
If you have five minutes and a bowl, you’ll do great!
I started researching more heavily into the chemical structure of my cleaning products after I had the water levels professionally checked in my home.
I know. How do those even correlate?
Well. My water was so contaminated and full of chlorine and toxins, I was basically drinking a swimming pool on the daily…….
Needless to say, it opened my eyes to potential health risks and made me wonder what else I was exposing my family too.
I recently had a soft water unit installed and absolutely love having 100% purified water to drink, wash my family’s clothes in, shower with, and clean the dishes.
I thought I was drinking pure water before, because I used my filtered refrigerator.
But I was wrong.
Because that “purification process” is technically connected to the line – which was made up of terrible, hard water, it wasn’t really that pure. Neither was my trusty Britta that you have to fill up with…..refrigerator filtered water.
Do you see the trend?
Since then, I’ve been getting rid of toxins everywhere I can think of (haha): laundry detergent, toothpaste, you name it.
Now, the idea of going 100% natural at the house is what I long for, but it’s not totally feasible. I don’t have time to make every single product I use.
And that’s okay.
As long as I’m aware of the toxins in products that I use frequently, I can put more emphasis into creating those at home!
For instance, today I’m covering how I create my own organic dishwashing liquid because it’s a daily process for me. And for any of you with children know how many dishes can accumulate in a span of 8 hours.
Unloading the dishes is a part of my morning ritual, and I’ll wash two or three more loads by the end of the night.
And there are only 3 of us.
I just re-read that sentence and realized…….maybe we just eat a lot………
That said, making my own dishwashing liquid is definitely beneficial and worth my time.
I’ve tried several methods, but this is the best:
You’ve made a natural, toxic-free, organic dishwashing liquid in less than five minutes that actually works!
You can choose any kind of castile soap you’d like. Just make sure it’s 95% or higher organic ingredients, because then it’s certified to the same USDA standard as organic food.
I stick to this brand because it’s certified organic by the USDA National Organic Program and certified Vegan by Vegan Action. It’s also packaged in 100% post consumer recycled (PCR)! And the biggest reason I order tons of this stuff is because it’s real soap that doesn’t have synthetic detergents or preservatives, and I use it to wash literally everything in my house – my daughter included.
